ANZSYS '07 is the thirteenth systems conference to be held in this series and was located in Auckland at Unitec New Zealand (Mt Albert Campus).

Auckland has one of the most cosmopolitan populations in the Asia Pacific, including an interesting diversity of Maori and Polynesian cultures. Auckland is regularly voted as one of the top 10 cities in the world to live. Auckland has beautiful beaches, a stunning harbour, great food and wine, and is the gateway to many of New Zealand 's world-class tourist sites.

The theme of this year's conference was Systemic Development: Local Solutions in a Global Environment. As the call to solve intractable problems in a globally-connected world increases, systems thinkers turn towards systemic problem solving. The challenge is to apply holistic, global systems concepts to local situations.

The call for this event went out to both the academics and practitioners that are applying systems thinking principles to such problems.
